AVCKLAND NOTES.
I [By Telegraph.- Own Correspondent.] I Auckland, April 22. I A shark over ten feet long was caught yesterday afternoon off the North Shore wharf.
A conference of those interested in the temperance movement was held in the Wesley Hall, Pitt street, last night, when there was a fair attendance of delegates from the several local Temperance Societies interested in the Prohibition question, including a number of ladies. The following motion was carried, " That this meeting urges upon those voting at the forthcoming local option poll the necessity of only tt iking out the first clause and ousting their vote for the granting of no licenses, thus allowing clause two, with relation to the reduction, to stand for what it is worth."
