Mr- A, Saunders, M.H J&. for Selwya, addressed a veil attended meeting of his constituents last night. He detailed some of the events of the session, explained why he had given a general support to the Government, and he enumerated tome of the points on which he differed from them. He. supported their financial proposals, but -opposed the appointments that were made to the Legislative Council as wrong in principle, and oondemned the increased payment to. members and the inoreaie in the number of Ministers to seven. He said that as the Council s 'amendments regarding women's franchise were not important, the Government conld have passed the Bill if they were desirous of doing so.. A vote of thanks and confidence was proposed, and also an amendment of thanks only, On a show of bands being taken, the Chairman could not decide, md tbe flieetiog broke op. ■
