The Thames were first at the wickets, and knocked up 33 all out, Wiggins and Newman being tbe only two players who got into double figures for Thames. The rest of the team were all disposed of for Tery low averages. The Brigade quite surprised themselves, 68 early in tbe innings their bales were flying freely, and they quite anticipated a defeat. Lynch was at his best trundling for the Brigade ; be is improving in style, and will by steady consistent practice make one of our most destructive bowlers. J. McDermott, of the Auckland Brigade, who is on a visit to the Thames, also assisted the Brigade, and put in a beautiful leg hit for 2; his next attempt was well caught by Gibbons.
