Speaking ot Petohworth Lord Knuts* ford declared that the colonies were watching the coarse of events in connection with Home Bale for Ireland, and if England conceded the demands of the Irish for self-government the colonies would ask whether it was to their interests to remain united to Great Britain.
Lord Eoseberry declines to seek re* election to the London County Council, on the ground that the elections are fought on political lines.
