(To tbe Editor of the Evenikg Stab.) * Sir,—l thin^:. that when we h»re •" candidate before us who has the honesty and manliness to tell us plainly who he intends supporting, we should be proud of him. Mr Frater is one of these. I really think Mr Nodder was right when he said Mr Frater was more than human. Would not most candidates who were Oppositionists be afraid to tell the Thames electors so? But Mr Frater does not want us to misunderstand who he will be found Toting with. By saying what he did yesterday he has .unquestionably lost all chance of election, as no one would vote for a person who favors Atkinson, the recognised Opposition leader. A vote to Mr Frater is thus thrown away, because the support he will now receive will be very limited. Mr Frater was foolish enough to inform us that he believed in plural voting, but that he should have the hardihood to state that he is out in the Opposition interest beats all. I would ask my brother electors to consider very carefully before recording their votes, and not to assist to get Atkinson into power.— lam.&c, W. W. Pollen street, Sept. 20th.
