SAD CASE OF POISONING.

The friends of Mr J. P. Eestell, of Parawai, will regret to learn that an unfortunate accident, as far as we can learn, occurred to him early this morning. He stated upon being broHght to the Hospital, that, suffering from insomnia, he took a dose of laudanum, and it appears that he took too much of it. Mr Restell has lately been indisposed, and it may be con* jectured that the consequence of this has been carelessness in taking the opiate which has caused him trouble. At the time of our going to press he was in such a condition that very faint hopes of bis recovery were entertained.
