RUPTURES. "OERSONS suffering from the above should JL apply to J. F. K. STRICKLAND, Surgical Instrument-maker (late maker to Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield Hospitale, and Gateshead Dispensary). Vincent street, Auckland (13 doors from Cook atreet, right hand aide). 2839 Diseased Nature oftentimes breaks forth in Btrange eruptions."—Act iii, Scene 1. TO THE PUBLIC. SOME patients suffering from nervous offections are afraid from sheer baehfulness and modesty to PUBSONAILY consult a medical man—other patients hare not the self-possession and coolness when in the consulting room, to accurately describe their symptoms—their habits of life, and the nature of the disease they suffer from. Let such persons (ho or she) sit quietly down in the privacy of their own apartments, and calm minde describe clearly eaoh symptom of their oaee, a clear statement thuß written, and laid before me is, far preferable in NEEVOtrs diseases to a personal consultation. Where, however, a disease is of a peculiar and exceptional character, a personal consultation may become necssai.ry; but my success in.correspondence is so great, that of the thousands upon thousands whom I b&ve treated by letter during the last 32 years, not a single mistake bas ever occurred, not a case baa ever been made public—in fact the very simplicity of my system of correspondence prevents publicity. At the same time medicines are sent to my patients in such a form as to defy detection. How many thousands have I not brought joy to ? How many have been enabled to enter into tho marriage state through consulting me ? How many after marriage have privately consulted me and been blessed and their married lives made fruitful and happy. How many wasted ruined youths of both sezes have also been restored to health, and thanked their manhood, for having consulted me by lettor. How many questions arise whore the family physician ia unable to unravel tho case and where often the patient lingers on, not daring to tell his family medical adviser the nature of his complaint, until consumption wasting, or mental diseases, set in and the sufferer gets beyond the curiable stage, and is left a hopeless wreck. A letter written in the privacy of the room end dropped in the post box reaches me quietly; the answer is returned aa quietly and unostentatiously, and the patient, without stepping from his ohamber, except to post his letter, is by return of post put in full possession of the nature of his case. His hopes are rrised his doubts removed, and he is comparatively a new man; in fact, in many cases, a new being altogether. The only addition to the ordinary written letter is the age occupation, habits and symptoms, nothing more. The usual consultation foe of £1 (one pound} must be enclosed, otherwise no answer will ba returned. There aro thousands of cases in daily life whore a consultation with one at a distance will remove by a single lettor a great fear, a great care, and it often solves what appears as an impenetrable mystery. Many a sad heart has been.made joyful on receipt of an explanatory lettor from me. To those who are about to marry, I would say consult me before doing so, and thus prevent many after troubles, and remove many unnecessary fears and prejudices; to those, more especially, who have suffered in early years from disease, or who have yielded to their passions. To these I say, at once, consult with me, do not tarry, delays are dangerous, and as an expert, my time may not be always afc your service, you can, by ismply enclosing one pound, have the benefit of my experience in the same manner as if I lived in your town, and with Lhe additional advantage of thorough privacy.—Yourß, truly, LOUIS L.
