MARTON.

Yesterday, 12.30 a.m. McDowell's draper's shop, Gardiuer's barber-and tobacconist shop, and a large billiard room, were burnt to ashes, nothing being saved. The fire originated in McDowell's, and is a mystery. All the buildings belonged to J. Harris, and were insured in the New Zealand for £200. The contents of the billiard room and barber's shop were uninsured. The loss is estimated at £350. McDowell values his stock at £3,000; the amount of insurance is unknown.
