Thames Hartor Board.

A meeting of the Thames Harbour Board was held this morning. PresentMr Davies (in the chair), the Mayor, Messrs Wilson, Ehrenfried, Osborne, and McGowan.

The Chairman explained that he had called the meeting for the purpose oF laying before it the following memo, from the manager of the Bank of New Zealand with reference to the financial position of the . Board :—" The Chairman Thames Harbour Board.—Dear Sir,—The following is the reply from my Inspector just received by wire :-—" Decline further advances. Amount already excessive.—T. L. Muuhay, Manager .Thames Branch."; A telegram had been received from the Hon. Mr Sheehan, which he was sorry to say was equally un satis factory,. Mr F. 0. Dean, in reply to a question, stated that if he could .get £350 at once he could stave off the difficulty for a fortnight or three weeks. £550 would still remain to be paid. ■ i Mr Ehrenfried : Our income is about £1300, and our working expenses are £50 a month, or thereabouts, which would leave us an equal sum to the good. Could not that sum be devoted to pay off this amount?

. Mr Dean said that the monthly income was not regular. Sometimes £76 were got in, and at other;times only £26 or so, although at the end of the year the income was about £1300. a •

The .Mayor taid that the consideration of the matter should be deferred until another reply had been received from the Goverment; ; )'■ - :, .r j

It was resolved, on the suggestion of the Mayor, to adjourn the .meeting until to- morrow morning, by which time it is thought a reply will be received from the Government

with reference.to the guarantee.
