-■) :■;.'' Friday. At a meeting of the Board of Health to-day it was stated that during the fortnight only three infectious diseases were reported, viz. :-—l diptheria, 1 scarlatina, 1 scarlet fever. At a meeting of the Drainage Board today, a letter was read from Mr Clarke, engineer, who is now in London, and who has consented to act as the ..Board's London agent. ;It was resolved to request him to forward all friends out to the colony in the ships of the New Zealand Company, if the cost was no greater than in other vessels; ; At the half-yearly meeting of the Jockey Club thist afternoon the stewards were appointed for the Autumn meeting, which was fixed to take place on Easter Monday and Tuesday. There is every appearance of rain, which is greatly needed in this province.
