Government will carry ont river protection works, and the Counties of Bruce and- Clutba will unite to erect a bridge, the' Government giving the money on loan for five years without interest. Nothing was decided on with regard to Inch-Clutha till the Engineer reports. Luncheon was provided" in the Crown Hotel at the expense- of the Corporation, when the .usual.toasts were proposed and responded to. The Hon. Mr'Macandrew and party left per special train for Dunedin at 3.30. The Hon. Mr Fisher has gone to Invercargill. /:;.^,
