■ : Monday. A grand concert is to be given on Thursday in aid of the funds for providing a Christmas treat for the children of the Orphanage. The body of the young man Lough, who was drowned in the estuary early this month, was recovered this morning. It was caught in the net of two fishermen. Edward Jerningham Wakefield was charged with stealing flowers from the domain this morning, and fined 40s. His excuse was that he had taken them to give to a nurse in the hospital, who had r been kind to. him , ' , L .Richard Lewin, surveyor in the Government Office, who was charged with, assaulting the keeper of the Botanical Gardens this morning, made a public apology and was discharged on paying costs.
