Insertion has been requested for the following, which we gladly accord, as it will relieve some anxiety felt in the town:—

I.have great pleasure in being able to state that the symptoms which existed yesterday in regard to Mrs Townsend> wife of Townsend, Butcher, of Grahamstown, have entirely subsided, and I am, therefore, justified in declaring that there is no scarlet fever in their house.
