SOUTH DEVON.

The tributers in this mine, Messrs Noble and party, are now having a crushing of. some 10 tons at Sprague's Mill, Hape Creek. This lot is a sample from four different leaders in their tribute. I was present last night when samples were examined by Mr Sprague, in the presence of Mr Noble, and, after a run of some few hours, the stuff looked eminently promising—the amalgam being literally diffused on the plates—looking up for an average of an ounce and a-half to the ton. This was from the result of three of the leaders, the fourth having been dis • continued as making "no show." I was assured by the manager that if the result is payable, they have stoping for 50 feet, and, of course if the whole maintains its present appearance, they will be able to supply the mill pretty freely.
