Monday. George Graham Eyes, formerly a clerk in the Christchurch. Post ' ffice, was committed for trial to-day for stealing letters. Ife had been suspected for some time, but no proof could be obtained until a short time ago, when a bundle of papers, including several letters addressed to other people, were accidentally found between his box and the wall at the hotel where he had been staying. The police were sent for, and on his box being opened, more letters addressed to other people were found.
