Officer ■versus John Foss, for permitting a nuiisance, in which the Bench had- reserved its decision on a point of law, judgment swas delivered this morning.-. The infor•mation had been laid under the Municipal Police Act, and Mr Tyler, for defendant, raised the objection that this Act had been repealed by the Municipal Corporation Act in so far as it applied to informations of the kind, and that. a. conviction could not be obtained. . . Mr Tyler appeared for defendant. 1 j : ■ The Bench said the information should have been brought under ]S"o. 3 Bye-law. It was therefore dismissed. STRAY HORSE. ■ " Alexander Smith was charged with a breach of the Borough Bye-law by allowing one horse to wander in the street. . Sergeant Elliott said defendant did not appear, but he had. sent a letter pleading guilty. Fined 2s 6d and costs. * r ! The Court adjourned at 10.50. i
