The Southern Cross learns from a private source that tho four million 4^ per cent loan will nett lo tho colony ninety-one, not ninety-three. It expresses disappointment at the result, and says that Vogel or someone else will have to levy a property and income tax to aid the exchequer. Mr Vesey Stewart has arranged for thirty-fire Belfast settlers, with an average capital of one thousand pounds each, to form a special settlement at Katikati.
