THE FIRST CASE BEFORE THE WARDEN.

A well known character called Ballarat Bill was brought up before Capt. Fraser, on Tuesday night, charged with breaking into a Maori tent and helping himself to bread and other eatables there. Capt. Fraser bound him in his own recognizance to appear befor him (bound him in fact on his honor) to come up yesterday afternoon to answer to the charge, which he did, but, unfortunately for him, the charge was proved without a doubt, and he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment.
