Our Mining Reporter.
THE WEEK
Has been chiefly noticeable for the excitement caused by the Colonial Prize Firing, and persons have consequently not been sufficiently unoccupied to give their attention to niuch else. , Setting aside this even the days have dragged on 4heir regular course without any events of an important character transpiring to awaken the interest of we, the people. On last Saturday I had to speak with regret of the stoppagej'of the Crown Prince. It is my pleasant duty this week to notice that operations have again been commenced. The men went down the shaft on Monday, and winding was commenced on Thursday. The mine is now in full swings and it is to be hoped that its prospects will increase rapidly. Of general mining, nothing can be said very bright, in which case " the least said the better."
