THIS DAT. (Before J. Kilgour and E. ,W. Puckey, Esqs., J.P.s) DBTJNKENNESS. Stephen Farrelly was charged with haying been drunk and incapable in Brown street. Grahainstown, on the sth jnstant. Pleaded guilty. Mr Bullen informed the Court that the charge was brought under the I4tth section of the Municipal Police Act, which proyided for a term of imprisonment of 3 months in addition to th« usual fine on a third conviction within three months. The Bench inflicted this penalty. Thomas Glenn was charged with having been drunk and disorderly in Brown street, Grahamstown, on the pth instant. Defendant did pot appear, and forfeited his bail. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. William Wilkinson was charged with having made use of obscene and ipdecpnt language in a public place, to wit, in Brown-street, GrahamsUwn, on the sth imstant.

Defendant said he was guiity, but pleaded in extenuation that he had erred under the influence of drink. Mr. Bullen regretted that he could not recommend the defendant to the leniency of the Bench, as tho language used was excessively disgusting, and there were ho less than sixteen previous convictions against him —for drunkenness, vagrancy, etc. Defendant was fined £5 and costs, or, in default, one month's imprisonment. The alternative of imprisonment was accepted. The Court then adjourned.
