CRICKET MATCH IN AUCKLAND.

A match, England v. World, took place in the Domain Ground in Auckland, yesterday, and resulted iv a yictory for ; the Englishmen by 21 runs. The 'scores were small owing partly to deadness of the ground, and partly because it was the opening match of the season for many of the players England lost, the toss and were sent in. With the exception of Dufaur, none of them made a stand; his 17 runs not out were put together by patient batting. The World only made 25, or two less than their opponents, no one getting double figures. Cotton's bowling speaks for itself \ in this innings he got 8 wickets for twelve runs. Lunch now intervened and seemed to bring a change over the game, for the Englishmen began to score in their second innings; putting: together 65 in all; Clifton, Mills, Cotton, Dufaur, Mumford, Lacon and Paul all playing well for their runs, The^World had 68 to get to win, which they failed to do, Davis and Yates aloDe making any stand; the latter made a capital innings, but was well bowled by Paul: every one expected him to carry Crujvhis bat. Robinson's analysis in the second innings was very good, getting 8 wickets for ten runs. Annexed is the score:—
