Taituba (a native) was charged with that he did Unlawfully assault one Charles Rowley, at Hikutaia, by seizing him by the throat, throwing him down, and attempting to throw him into the river.

Defendant made no appearance. Mr. Bullen said the summons had been served in due form, and that defendant had declared his intention, of not obeying. The Court then adjourned.
