Defendant pleaded guilty, and said she had paid 3s for impounding. - His yPorship remarked that he could not understand how it was people could be induced to keep these animals. Fined 2s and costs. ' . . AWOTHEB CASE. Johanna Conroy was charged with a similar breach, having allowed one to wander at large in Kirkwood-street, Grahamstown on the 25th instant. There was no appearance of defendant. Sergeant Elliott was examined as to the offence, and the poundkeoper was examined as to the goat having been re-
leased by defendant's son. Fined Is and '.costs. ; A SIMILAII CHAEGE. , John jjryan was charged with allowing one goat s:nd two kids to wonder at large in JUavj'Street, Grahamstown, on the 26th. Defendant's wife appeared to plead guilty, and was fined Is and costs. AND YET ANOTHER. George Ginn was charged with a breach of another section of the .Borough Bye-law .by laying timber on the road in Pollenstreet, on the 26th. **" Defendant admitted that he had left sand on the road, but the bricks were taken in as they were brought. He did not think any objection would be raised. His Worship asked Mr. Dean how much a license would cost, in answer to which Dean said no charge was made for a permit. His Worship read clause of Borough regulations, wliich ." made it lawful" to impose 5s payment for every license. Defendant saij3A£ had taken out a permit for seven feet, but that, he found, would not answer. Fined Is and costs. The Court then adjourned.
