-.*.■.' We are in receipt bf.New Zealand Gazette No. 42, and Nos. 9 and 10 New Zealand Parliamentary Debates. ; "The Hauraki District Fire Bate Act,. 1872 Amendment Act, 1874," has been laidj :before His Excellency' the' Governor,*and has"been assented to by His Excellency. ; Letteri of Naturalization, under " The Aliem Act, 1866," have been issued in favor of Guatave LudwigTheodor Yon derlleyde, merchant, Auckland. = Wn notice that Messrs Holmes Bros 1! new paddle steamer Hauraki will make an excursion to the Miranda on Sunday n*xtj i leaving Tararu at'-10 o'clock a.m. This being the Hauraki'e maiden trip, no doubt large numbers will avail themselves of this splendid opportunity to witness the great native meeting at the Miranda. ! By the Enterprise No. 2 : which : came round by* way of Corbmandel yesterday* we received a copy of tho News of that date (Thursday) from which'we extract-the following :—lt will be gratifying to our readers to learn that the' Regulations for the Hauraki Gold Mining Pi-trict are at present under the able consideration of A. j Allom, Esq., of the Warden's office, Grahamstown, for tbe purpose of revision and amendment. It will be remembered that this gentleman as Regisr trar'originated some years ago the' system of registering memorials of encumbrances against claims, and >alsd discharges of the same, which has been of such wide spread use and practical benefit at the Thames. , Thbhe was no police business in the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning. On the civil side there were seventeen cases on the sheet, which is a larger' number than the magistrate has bad to adjudicate upon for some time past. The manner in which these cases were disposed Was essentially peculiar : they were each and every one adjourned—excepting those of course that were struck out. Thus' 'the business which might reasonably have been expected to occupy the Court some! hours was conducted ia the space of a few minutes. It has never perhaps before occurred that the civil business has been disposed of without one or more witnesses having been heard. . .-. „',n ; ; > ■.."'* •; ;.' ■ ■
