THE BLACK ANGEL.

The Black Angel Company's crushing still continues at the Manukau battery. There are 10 head employed on blue atone and mullock, and 10 head on brown stone. Tho brown stone is taken from a lode above the 160 feet level, the lode being from 6 to 7 feet thick, and is shewing up for a very payable return. The blue stuff being put through is from a block that Mr. Dakin had left standing.' The block is also above the 160 feet level, but is not yielding so well as the brown stone. This block had been left because the expense of breaking it out and sending to the mill made it unprofitable to crush it; now that greater facilities are to hand as to transit, it will pay well. The present crushing, it is expected, will be completed this week, when from the two lots a good payable return is expected.
