FLOOD.
There is every indication of a big flood before this rain subsides. It has now been ; pouring "down'for over twelve hours, with scarcely a stoppage. We- have not time to learn if any damage has been done, but the low lying parts of the town aj*b under water,; arid' the wateft tables have been carrying down little; rivers. The rain will not be an unmixed evil, as it was much wanted in some of the tip creek batteries. ' ■
