BALLARAT AND CLUNES.
The battery manager started the above company's machinery yesterday, the late rains having supplied sufficient water for crushing operation. 15 head of stamps are employed on the reduction of stone from the Rose and Shamrock Company's mine, and 15 head on stuff from the Alburnia. The stone from the latter claim is conveyed direct from the mine to the mill through the Rose and Shamrock tunnel. Sufficient stuff has not yet been ciushed to admit of an expression of opinion as to what the yield will be from either parcel.
