OCCUPATION FORCES IN AUSTRIA

Move For Reduction LONDON. December 3. Britain has taken the initiative in inaugurating negotiations to bring about a reduction in Allied occupation forces in Austria, says the Press Association’s diplomatic correspondent. Communications have been sent to Russia, America and France stating that in the British view the time has arrived for a reduction of the arnves which are adding greatly to Austria’s present economic difficulties and are a grievous burden to her. Britain suggested that the armies should be so reduced that in a few months the forces of the occupying Powers would approximately be equal.
