Welcome Home Dance There was a good attendance at a welcome home dance held in honour of Warrant Officer S. L. Moyle who has returned after service with the R.N.Z.A.F. in the Pacific. The chairman of the War Activities Committee, Dr. P. R. Woodhouse, extended a welcome to the guest and presented him with a gift. Warrant Officer Moyle suitably replied and also thanked those who had sent parcels. Mrs G. W. Cocks presented Mrs Moyle with a shoulder spray. Music was supplied by Mrs L. Bishop and extras by Mrs G. Morris and E. McAlwee. Mr E. Smart was M.C. Women’s Institute Mrs Vincent presided over the. last meeting of the Bluecliffs Women’s Institute. It was decided to bring patches of material suitable for making a quilt along to the next meeting. Miss G. McAlwee gave the three minute talk on Manila. Hostesses were Mesdames Ward and Dales (2). The Rev. W. Avery (Timaru) gave a very interesting talk on the islands. Competitions resulted: Christmas gift, Miss McAlwee and Mrs Colyer (equal) 1, Mrs Watt 3, and Mrs Vincent 4. Savouries, Mrs Colyer 1. Bowl of roses. Mrs Colyer 1, Mrs T. Ward 2. Vegetable, Mrs T. Squire 1, Mrs T. Ward 2. Premier bloom, Mrs D. Risk 1, Mrs T. Ward 2, Mrs L. Ward 3.
