Visit To Dominion
(N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND, Noy. 1. Temporary Surgeon Rear-Admiral G. Gordon-Taylor, consulting surgeon to the Royal Navy, arrived in Auckland by flying-boat from Sydney to visit hospitals and naval establishments. He was met on arrival by the naval officer in charge at Auckland, Commodore Dowding, and the Director of Naval Medical Services. Surgeon-Cap-tain H. K. Corkill. Rear-Admiral Gordon-Taylor, who is president of the Royal Society of Medicine. has been consulting surgeon to the Middlesex Hospital for more than 30 years. He holds a large number of posts in Britain, among them being those of surgeon to St. Saviour’s Hospital and to the Royal Scottish Hospital and Corporation. He is also consulting surgeon to the emergency medical service. He was appointed consulting surgeon to the Roval Navy at the outbreak of war in 1939. Rear-Admiral Gordon-Taylor served in Britain for most of the war. He went to Russia in 1943 to visit hospitals and the Russian front.
