Servicemen Entertained “In saying welcome home and well done to these men. we also have to remember the mothers who have been through more anxiety and worry than the men themselves during the war years. To show our admiration of their courage I ask that a small spray of flowers be presented to the mother of the guests,” said Mr C. Lyons (chairman of the Soldiers' Entertainment Committee) on the occasion of a welcome home function in honour of Privates Tom and Harry Garrett. After a short resume of the services they had rendered in Egypt, Lybia and Italy, Mr Lyons assured them of every help from the residents to enable them to return to civilian life again. Mr Bissett (R.S.A.) assured them that his Association would do all in its power to help and advise them. In expressing good wishes and thanks from the community Mr Lyons presented the guests with an envelope each. Novelty dances were won by Mr lan Clark and Miss V. Apes, Mr D. Wallace and Mrs W. McCarroll. An orchestra supplied the music, extras being played by W. Greeve. Mr R. Gabities acted as M.C.
