PLEASANT POINT

Presbyterian Church At the adjourned meeting of the Pleasant Point Presbyterian Church the Rev. N. E. Oakley presided. The War Memorial Committee suggested that this body be reformed, and a committee representing the various portions of the parish was appointed. The report on Budget contributions was presented by Mr E. Lienert, and it was decided to give all an opportunity to give by donations or by boxes, and to arrange for collectors to visit the others. Bowling Club A meeting of the Pleasant Point Bowling Club was presided over by Mr L. C. Craythorne. The opening; day was fixed for October 27. Mr W. Stevenson was appointed greenkeeper, and Mr T. Parkhill deputy-supervisor during the absence of Mr J. Freeman. The club acknowledged the fine work of Messrs Freeman, Drennan and others in having the green in such good order. A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of Mr E. Frew, a former president of the club, was carried in silence. The donation by Messrs Cook and Sons of a hose cupboard was accepted with thanks.
