REAL BOMBS. REAL TARGETS

R.A.F. To Raid Heligoland (730 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 4. The R.A.F. is shortly resuming raiding with its bigeest and best bombs, says the “Daily Mall.” The targets will be E-boat pens at Heligoland, which escaped serious damage in heavy R.A.F. raids and naval shelling. They are constructed of tremendously thick reinforced concrete and their escape is one of the war’s strangest flukes, because the island was terribly pounded. The R.A.F. next month intends to indul in target practice with the Intention of making sure that the pens never again harbour E-boats. It is possible that the newest and biggest bomber, the Avro Lincoln, will be used. So far it has not seen operational service.
