U.S. OIL STRIKE
Government Takes Over Refineries <ll 15 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Oct. 4. The White House announced that the Government to-day was taking over all strike-bound refineries and other installations of 11 of the largest oil companies in the United States Judge Lewis Schwellenbach iSecretarv of Labour, announced that negotiations, lasting 10 days, had failed to bring any progress toward a settlement of the dispute.
