Kensington Free Kindergarten.—To promote interest in the Free Kindergarten movement in Timaru and also to inaugurate the social side of its activities, the Kensington branch has recently formed a Mothers’ Club which is proving most successful. At the monthly meeting held last week an amusing play was read by six members, while a sales table, stocked with articles entered in the competition conducted each month, did a brisk business. The children were cared for outside, leaving mothers free to enjoy the proceedings. Afternoon tea and a friendly chat brought the afternoon to a close.
