Euchre Party A euchre party held under the auspices of the Library Committee attracted a large attendance. The prizes were won by Mesdames Willcox, McClelland, and Bray, and Messrs N. South, G. Blissett and J. Beeby.
Farewell Social The Library Hall was filled to capacity on Tuesday night when a complimentary euchre social was held by the Library Committee as a farewell to Mr D. Alexander, a well-known resident of the district and an active committeeman, who is leaving the district. Mr J. Smith on behalf of the Library Committee asked Mr Alexander to accept a fireside chair as a token of appreciation of his long service to Winchester and the Library in particular. Mr Alexander had been a member of the committee for 23 years, and his service would be greatly missed. Mrs Pearce and Messrs M. South and J. Cripps also spoke. Anzac Day Service The Anzac Day service drew the largest attendance for a number oi years, including many returned servicemen. The chairman was Mr B. Trumper. The main address was delivered by the Rev. W. Wisdom, of Temuka. Mr Menzies, president of the Temuka R.S.A., also spoke. The music for the hymns was provided by the Temuka Salvation Army Band. At the conclusion of the service a procession headed by the band, followed bymembers of the R.S.A.. pupils of the School, and the public proceeded to the Memorial for the placing of wreaths. The sounding of Last Post and Reveille concluded an impressive service.
