Break Through The Agenta Gap
British Eighth Army troops have broken through the Argenta gap towards Ferrara, states an Allied communique from Italy. Leading elements captured Boccaleone and are advancing north. Eighth Army troops elsewhere consolidated their newly-won gains. Fifth Army forces south-west of Bologna continued to drive through difficult terrain. South Africans east of the Reno River made further gains. American infantry, after a two-day battle up steep slopes, captured Monte Adone and Monte Frati. Other Fifth Army troops astride the FlorenceBologna road have made substantial progress.
