NAVAL ACTIVITY

Strikes In Adriatic LONDON, April 18. Naval activity continues in the Adriatic, states a Mediterranean Sea communique. On Monday night motor torpedo-boats of the Royal Navy, operating off Tagliamento River, sank two, and probably a third enemy craft by torpedo without damage to themselves. On the same night a British motdr torpedo-boat, operating with light coastal craft of the Yugoslav Navy off the Istrian coast of the Gulf of

Trieste, attacked and blew up an enemy lighter and probably sank an enemy R-boat. Furthei- south, in the Adriatic, minesweepers, landing craft, and light coastal forces of the Royal Navy continue their active support of the Yugoslav forces operating in the Northern Dalmatian Islands. On Monday night an E-boat was sunk by the French destroyer Trombe to seaward of Porto Mauizio, on the west side of the Gulf of Genoa. Allied naval forces continue to give active fire support to the army operating in the neighbourhood of the Franco-Italian border.
