EXCESSIVE PRICE CHARGED

Fine Of £5O Imposed (N.Z.P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 19. Charles Watkins Stafford was fined £5O by Mr G. G. Chisholm, S.M.. for selling at the Southern Cross Hotel, through his agent, a bottle of port wine at an unreasonably high price. A similar charge against Herbert Stafford was withdrawn by leave of the Court. Mr J. D. Hutchison, counsel for the Price Tribunal, saying it was fortuitous that two men should own the hotel and that two lines were not sought.
