Social At Ashwick Flat There was a good attendance in the Ashwick Flat School when residents met to bid farewell to Mr L. C. Whyte and family, who axe leaving the district to reside in Timaru. The chairman, Mr F. J. Carter, expressed regret at the departure of Mr Whyte and family, and thanked them for the great help they had given while in the district. Mrs Whyte was presented with a well-filled wallet by Mr A. J. Salt, who extended the best wishes of all for the future of the departing guests. Other speakers were Mrs F. J. Carter (Women’s Institute) and Mr Jas. O’Neill (on behalf of the residents of Allandale). Mr Eric Whyte replied on behalf of his mother and sisters. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Miss T. O’Connor, and Messrs N. Williams, E. Butters and K. Allan. Mr J. J. O’Connor acted as M.C.
