ALBURY
Gift Evening
Miss M. E. Anderson of the Telephone Exchange, Albury, who is to be married to Mr D. Barwood of Fairlie, was the guest of Mrs D. Harrison and friends in the Lodge Hall at a social and gift evening. Miss Anderson was the recipient of many useful gifts, and was also presented with a wallet of notes.
Items were contributed by Miss S. Tinkler, Master- F. Peterson, Miss B. Adams, Miss B. Peterson, Miss Joan Woods, Mr T. Besley. Mrs I. R. Polson, and Miss F. Davison.
The Rev. W. R. Hay referred to the esteem in which Miss Anderson was held in the district, and Mr D. Harrison to her ability and popularity in the position from which she was resigning. Mr Barwood and Miss Anderson replied, thanking- Mrs Harrison for organising the function and to the guests forhonouring her with their presence. Mrs Tinkler, Miss Connor and Mrs Tyson supplied the dance music, and Mr A. Barwood acted as M.C. Mrs Gordon Guy, Miss F. Davison and Mr Douglas Bar-wood played an extra.
