SECURITY DECREE
Action By Argentina
(8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 29. The Buenos Aires correspondent of the “Herald-Tribune” says that the Argentine Government has issued a national security decree providing severe prison terms for both Argentine and foreign residents who attempt to overthrow the present regime, disturb public order, transmit damaging reports to foreign countries or engage in espionage. An official statement indicated that the decree was issued in anticipation of possible anti-Government activities as the end of the European war draws near, and of increasing external pressure by some of the victorious foreign powers.
