SWORD PRESENTED
Honour For R.A.F. Squadron Official R.N.Z.A.F. News Service ARAKAN FRONT, Jan. 26. For the great part they played in helping the Army to capture a heavily defended Japanese position in Burma, one of the oldest R.A.F. squadrons in 'existence to-day had the distinction of being presented with a captured Japanese sword by the air officer in command of a group, Air Commodore the Earl of Bangor. The squadron, which is commanded by a New Zealander, Squadron Leader J. M. Cranstone, of Wanganui, operates with the Eastern Air Command. Another New Zealander, Flight Lieutenant R. S. Jenkins, of Manurewa, is one of the squadron’s flight commanders.
