(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. 28. The Tasmanian potato crop now being harvested is a record. It is expected that the yield will be 300,000 tons, equal to the total Australian production in 1942. For 10 years before the war Tasmanian potato crops averaged about 92,000 tons. Although green vegetables will be in short supply. Australia’s potato output this season is expected to exceed 800,000 tons, 230,000 tons more than last season.
