NEW PUPILS will be enrolled at the Schools as under:— GIRLS’ SCHOOL on FRIDAY, February 2, between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., and SATURDAY, February 3, between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. BOYS’ SCHOOL on THURSDAY, February 1, and FRIDAY, February 2, between 9 a’m. and 12.30 p.m., and 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., and on SATURDAY, February 3, between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Primary School Certificates and Birth Certificates to be produced on enrolment. Boarding and conveyance allowances, Secondary School and other Bursaries available in approved cases. CARPENTRY TRAINING A SCHOOL for training carpenters will open in Timaru on FEBRUARY 26. All ex-servicemen are eligible to apply and details regarding wages, term of training, etc., may be obtained from the Rehabilitation Department, Stafford Street, Timaru. SCHOOL YEAR OPENS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6. Enrolment of new pupils—Rector will be at the School to interview parents from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, Friday, February 2, and Monday, February 5. It will assist the School IWfl—avOld unnecessary delay if town parents enrol their children on the Thursday (the earlier the better), leaving the Friday for country parents. Parents should bring with them:— (a) Primary Leaving Certificates where such have been won. (b) Evidence of date of birth of pupils to be enrolled. Interviews in the evenings at the Rector's residence may be arranged whera parents find it impossible to fit in any of the above times during the day. CANTERBURY AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE. LINCOLN. A LIMITED Number of Students can still be accepted in each of the following courses commencing about March 1, 1945: HORTICULTURE A two-years’ course designed to give a thorough training in all phases of horticulture. In addition to the College Certificate in Horticulture, this course prepares students for the examinations of the Royal N.Z. Institute of Horticulture. INTENSIVE COURSE IN GENERAL AGRICULTURE An eight-months’ course devoted entirely to lectures, demonstrations, consideration of farm management and to farm inspections. Open to men, of 20 years of age and over, with extensive and approved practical farming experience.

VALUATION AND FARM MANAGEMENT A ten-months’ course of an advanced standard open to those who hold a Degree in Agriculture or the Diploma of the College, or who have completed the Intensive Course or possess training and experience of equivalent value.
