Cartage Of Fat Lambs At a meeting of the Mackenzie County Goods Transport Control Committee, presided over by Mr W. G. Black, it was agreed to give effect to a direction from the Minister .of Transport regarding the transport of fat lambs from the Mackenzie County to the freezing works. It was decided that all carriers in the Mackenzie County be notified that from and after February 1 all fat lambs for the freezing works be conveyed only to the nearest railwav station. After that date no lambs will be carted bv lorry from the Mackenzie County to the freezing works. The letter from the Minister stated that such action was necessary as it was felt that the present petrol and tyre situation did not warrant road transport being used where rail transport was available.
