Kindergarten Victorious (NZP.A.) HASTINGS. Oct. 2 As a result of being allowed to run together in the early hours of Sunday morning, two well-known entires. Kindergarten, and his half-brother. Go!d“n Souvenir, indulged in a melee in the stable vards at Greenmeadows. Both were injured, Golden Souvenir suffering most. It is believed that at 2.30 am. some person opened the horses’ boxes and allowed them to run together. There is evidence that the horses fought in the yard and then forced their way through a fence into an adjoining paddock, where they continued the fight. x . Indications point to Kindergarten being the victor, and that Golden Souvenir found refuge by struggling through a wire fence on to the main road, where he was found at daybreak, bearing signs of having had a bad time. „ , . A veterinary surgeon was called “o attend to the wounds of both horses, the seriousness of which will not be known for a few days. On the assumption that the release of the horses was a deliberate attempt to interfere with them, the police are investigating;
