Two Cards Of One Up

A mixed foursome bogey handicap was played at Highfield on Saturday by the Timaru and Glenitl Clubs. The course was In good order and two scores of one up were returned. H. A. Scott and Miss Bradley winning on a count back from J. B. Forrest and Mrs Purdom. Best scores were: H. A. Scott and Mlsfe Bradley (18) 1 up, J. B Forrest and Mrs J. Purdom <l7) 1 up, T. Williams and Miss Durning (23) all square, C. G. Durning and Miss Roberts (20) 1 down, G. Fairbrother and Miss Annett (20) 1 down, I. Wilby and Miss Whitefield (16) 3 down, B. Watson and Mrs Fraser (26) 3 clown, F. R. Cross and Mrs H. Ward (16) 3 down. Gleniti Junior Championship In the final of the junior championship of the Glenitl Club, J. Menzies, sr. beat W. J. Jones on the thirtyeighth green. At the finish of the morning round they were all square. In the afternoon Jones was doimiie three, but Menzies won the last three

holes and squared the match on the home green. Menzies approached weli on the thirty-seven th and one-putted for a four. Jones narrowly missed a “birdie” three. The thirty-eighth went to Menzies, who. is to be congratulated on a fine performance for a man of 74 years. F. R. Cress won the intermediate championship by defeating A. Watkinson, 6 and 5.
