WOMEN’S DIVISION
ALBURY BRANCH Mrs J. O'Neill presided at the September meeting of the Albury branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union. Arrangements were made for the packing and dispatching of soldiers' Christmas parcels. An excellent response to the appeal for refugee clothing was made. Tentative arrangements for the forthcoming birthday party were discussed. The Rev. W. R. Hay addressed the gathering on “International Order.” and at the conclusion of his talk, members availed themselves of the opportunity provided to discuss their ideas on the topic presented. Mesdames O'Neill and West returned a vote of thanks to Mr Hay. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs J. and Miss F. Groundwater and Mrs J. Paterson was accompanist. Competitions resulted as follows: Child's garment. Mrs A. Golding 1, Mrs A. Cox 2: mittens, Mrs J. Paterson 1, Mrs R. Tinkler 2: health loaf, Mrs A. Cox 2. Mrs J. O'Neill 2; preserves. Mrs A. Golding 1. Mrs J. Paterson and Mrs F. Adams (equal) 2; bloom. Miss F. Groundwater 1. Mrs J. O'Neill 2; leeks. Mrs G. Allan 1. Mrs J. Paterson 2.
