Board Of Managers I At the monthly meeting of the Board | of Managers of the Strathcona Home i Training Hostel there were present: I Mesdames B. E. Evans iin the chair), ; J McLeod (organising secretary), C. C. i Douglas, M. Guild, S. Unwin and Miss I Austin. I The Farm Committee reported on i work done and proposed on the farm, ■ and on the stock. Applications for trainees were discussed and the neccsI sary arrangements made. In the six I years since its foundation Stratheona I has trained 54 girls in domestic work, j and supplied help to 70 country homes I with 211 children between them. | The Matron reported in detail on all the trainees. Bad weather had prevented much work in the garden, but some digging and trenching had been accomplished. The supply of eggs Wes increasing. Good numbers of school children were being supplied with dinner. Gifts of walnuts, fruit and vegetables were gratefully acknowledged.
